Prayer Requests
Virginia Benda had her surgery for her cochlear and inner ear today. Things seem to have gone well. She will need a lot of healing; praying for no complications! (2/3/25)
Ron Pauley (friend of Judy Bumpus) has been dealing with cancer for some time. He has asked for our continued prayers that his body will tolerate his current medication well and that it will work on the cancer and not have negative side effects on his blood. It is also his desire to be used by God through this process as a witness and testimony for Him. (1/23/25)

Kristin Lampkin (Paula Kieler’s friend’s sister-in-law) is in her early 30s and has stage four breast cancer, which is a fast- spreading cancer. She has been sent home from the hospital for hospice care. We are praying for God's comfort and peace in whatever time she has left. (1/23/25)
Karen Boeding (an individual Linda Gibson is sharing Christ with) had cancer surgery at the end of September, and the cancer has returned and spread to her bones, eye and brain; she is having a lot of pain. We are praying for pain relief and her quality of life in the time she has left. Linda is staying in touch with her to continue to share Christ’s love and the gospel message of hope with her. Scott & Paula Seiberling have a lot on their plate right now. Scott is still recovering from surgery and now has bronchitis. They have added the custody of Lars' two toddler children. We are praying for their wisdom, health and strength mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. We are praying for the future of the grandchildren also. (1/28/25)
Dan Snelson got out of the hospital. All the tubes are out, and his infection is under control. He still has blood clots to deal with in his legs, but overall is feeling much, much better. We are praying for Dan’s overall health and strength to return and for Deb's strength and health as she cares for him. (1/28/25)
Kelly Revell (friend of Sue Torres) has esophageal cancer and hernia surgery on February 17. She will be off work for 6-8 weeks. We are praying for successful surgery without complication or setbacks and for her body to be cancer free. (1/29/25)

Michelle McMillan (Cindy Melvin’s sister) will have another MRI again in the first part of February. She is doing ok so far. She will be doing chemo again; however, this time they will monitor her at the hospital to make sure she has no allergic reactions. (1/28/25)

Carol Huntoon (Donna Bennum’s sister) was in the hospital battling Influenza A and Pneumonia. She is now back home at the Altoona Manor and doing better. We are praying for her full recovery, health and strength. (1/28/25)
Kayla Bennum (Donna and Bill Bennum’s daughter) has struggles with multiple mental health and addiction issues. She continues to make poor life choices which impact on the whole family. We are praying for a hedge of protection around her heart and mind to protect her from evil’s desire to destroy her mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. (1/28/25)
Janae, Donna & Bill Bennum's oldest daughter’s baby (Kahlani) died on 1/6/25 at less than a month old. Bill and Donna are trying to see if Janae can stay with them for a while as the family grieves their loss. Micah (Kayla’s son), Bill and Donna’s grandson, is staying with Bill and Donna, and Kahlani’s funeral has emotionally impacted Micah significantly as well. Please pray for the entire family during this very difficult time in their lives. (1/28/25)
Gabe Lee is visiting his mother in Malaysia and will return home the middle of February. We are praying for his travel safety and for the family in his absence. (1/28/25)
Kathy Good has herniated disks in her neck; she has a lot of neck and back pain; some days are better than others. She had surgery on 1/17 for her severe carpal tunnel pain. She is already seeing positive results from the surgery recovery time is up to three months. We are praying for her full recovery and health. (1/28/25)
Tedd Norman is now on the permanent list for a new kidney. He will be having more tests on Feb 3rd. We are diligently praying that he will receive a new kidney very soon. (1/29/25)
Dick Story (Judi Norman’s brother) passed away 1/15/25. He was 88 years old. Please pray for the family as they grieve. (1/29/25)
Bill Passat (friend Judi Norman) is continuing to improve after his stroke. He is walking with a cane, and his speech has cleared up; they are hoping he will recover soon, so please pray for full recovery. (1/29/25)
Baby Avaiya Reed (friend of Judi Norman) was back in the hospital and still having issues. She is able to eat normally now and weighs over eight pounds. We are praying that she continues to grow and be healthy physically without further complications. Her mother is Lexie Leach, (12686 SE 64th Ave, Runnells) and Avaiya’s great grandmother, Kim Oaks, said she was sure she would appreciate prayers and cards. (1/29/25)
Judi Norman is having several health issues. Because of her servant’s heart and ministry to others, she has a hard time slowing down. We are praying for pain control and successful solutions for her health needs, and for those she serves and love for Christ. (1/29/25)
Alan Rockhold (friend of Judi Norman) had extensive heart surgery and has Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome, a condition in which the body's immune system attacks the nerves, causing weakness, tingling and numbness or paralysis in the hands and feet. He is looking and feeling better and is able to walk with just a cane. We are praying for a full recovery without further complications. (1/29/25)
Todd Norman had a knee replacement and is still having lots of pain and stiffness; cold weather is very painful. He is having sinus issues as well. We are praying for long term health and pain relief. (1/29/25)
Sgt. Andrew Skiles and his wife Chantal Skiles are both in Germany and getting settled in. Praying the Lord goes before them and provides a hedge of protection around them. (1/3/25)
Sonya McNeal Scadden (Carol Smith’s cousin) is in her final state of pancreatic cancer and is sleeping most of the time at this point. Her greatest prayer need at this time is for her parents to get custody of her children before she dies. They have a court date on 1/31/25. We are praying God will make this happen! (1/28/25)
Sara Beth Fouch, Gary Cox’s aunt who is nearly 90 years old, has recently broken her ankle and hip, so is in therapy in Columbia, MO., five weeks past surgery and doing well, but anxious to get back home to LaPlata, where she is very active in her community and the church organist. (1/29/25)
Chad Goodhue (friend of Jane Smith) had surgery on his leg for a wound that is infected and not healing; they had to remove the steel rod to help it heal. He is going to have to have surgery again the middle of February to put the steel rod back in the leg. We are praying his leg will heal right and quickly without complications. They appreciate all the prayers they can get. (12/28/24)
Staci Gray (Brent Whitney’s cousin) had good news, as her cancer markers are normal, and the CT scan looked good. She is to have her fourth major surgery to fix a leaky fistula in her abdomen, it is scheduled for Feb. 7th. She is only 55 years old and has been struggling with digestive surgeries and issues for over a year. We are praying diligently that this surgery will be successful and give her a better quality of life. We are praying not only for successful removal, but that she will remain fistula-free for the rest of her life. (1/28/25)

Kyler Lenox (friend of Nita Hoffman) is doing well. He is 13 years old, living in Fremont, IA. He has a slow-growing brain tumor. His labs show that his tumor is stable and possibly even smaller, and they are monitoring him closely. He is doing well. We are praying that his treatments will keep the tumor from growing, and for only good results and healing for his body. The whole family is extremely thankful. (1/28/25)

Jane Smith has a Basal Cell cancer spot on her right bottom eyelid. We are praying God will remove it before she is to have it surgically removed the middle of February. We are praying the eye procedure will be 100% successful without any complications. (12/28/24)
Jessica Scholz is dealing with new life circumstances and figuring out how to become more independent and self-sufficient. Several individuals within the church are trying to help her help herself. We are praying for her to have wisdom and discernment in her life choices and decisions in learning how to live independently and on her own and for her to be strong mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Mario Lara continues to deal with tinnitus, but it is a little better. We are praying the ringing in his hearing will go away completely. He is having neck pain and needs eye new glasses. We are praying for his wisdom in maintaining balance of work and rest in his life. Also praying for his health and strength as he continues to serve the Kingdom. (1/28/25)
Patty Manny (Fay Thompson) is 80 years old, and her cancer has returned; she is opting for no treatment at this time. She is still able to be in her own home with family help but is pretty much homebound. We are praying that she will be able to enjoy each day God gives her as she ends her life journey and prepares to step into the presence of her Creator. (1/29/28)
Louise Bennett has PVD (Peripheral vascular disease), and her retina is collapsing and detaching from her optic nerve, causing a blood vessel to burst in her eye which has caused a blind spot in her right eye. Her eye is doing as well as can be expected, but she has to be very careful to avoid any kind of head trauma. We are praying that her eye will heal completely and not get any worse. She is still having trouble regulating her blood sugar which continues to run low because of diabetes. (1/29/25)
Daniel Perkins (Louise Bennett's brother) has cellulitis which causes pain and mobility issues. He is doing better but still must keep his legs wrapped. He is on medication to help clear this up. We are praying for a speedy and complete recovery. (1/29/25)
Kris Wolf’s brother-in-law Jeff has been getting infusion treatments for his cancer, and the results have been very promising. He is feeling better now than he has for a long time. We are praying that God intervenes and heals his body of cancer; if He doesn’t, this is not a cure. We then pray the time he has left can be quality time with family and friends. (01/29/28)
Vanessa Merrill (Valerie Merrill’s twin sister) has pancreatic cancer. She had a pain blocker to help her deal with her pain and is finishing her first rounds of chemotherapy with relatively mild side effects. When they are done, she will take a break to give her body time to recover before having surgery. The best doctor they could find is in Indiana, so they moved there and are able to stay with her daughter through this time. After her surgery, she will have another round of six chemo treatments. We are praying for Vanessa’s complete healing this side of heaven and for the family as they go through this journey together. (1/29/25)

Jenny Muggenburg has finished her chemo and radiation. She is to have her tongue replacement surgery Feb 17th. We are praying that she heals without any complications, and that she will remain cancer-free. (1/29/254)
Evan (Liz Rhodes’ grandson) is in remission and overall doing pretty well. His continued treatments have been on a two week hold because his blood counts are low. The doctors want to continue with strong doses of Chemo for preventive maintenance because of the kind of cancer he has had. They have to carefully monitor his blood work and health as they move forward with treatments. The whole family is growing closer to God and each other as they go through this life journey together. Harrison and Krista Terrill (Chad and Staci Terrill’s children): Everything is going as smoothly as they could hope for their baby at this point. He has a large part of his brain missing and will have several ongoing physical challenges. Hudson is a happy baby and a blessing to Mom and Dad. Thay are trusting in God to help him be all God created him to be, to Gods honor and glory. We are praying God will bless Hudson physically and spiritually as he grows and fulfills God’s purpose in his life; he is doing better than expected so far. (1/28/25)
Jeannine Derrough (neighbor/friend of Vickie Doerr) just found out her cancer has returned. She was just trying to eat clean and healthy and trust her body to stay healthy. She had to have 9.5lbs of fluid drained from her stomach area. We are praying for her healing and for her to stay strong mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. (1/28/25)
Stefanie Gibson (Dave Gibson’s daughter) has completed radiation and is now doing a round of chemo treatments every 21 days until April. She decided to currently skip a treatment to give herself a little more time to recover before starting again. We continue to pray for long-term continued physical healing and her walk with God. God is answering prayers for her physically and spiritually. (1/29/25)
Rod Haenschen (Dave Gibson’s brother-in-law) had a spinal fusion procedure done to help with pain caused by the cancer in his spine. He is also able to periodically get shots in his spine to help with pain. There is no cure for him at this point, and doctors are just trying to keep him comfortable in the time he has left. We are praying God will touch their hearts with the love and hope of Christ and draw them closer to Him before the end. (1/29/25)
Evelyn Shivers Has been able to get out and go to church and is doing better. Martha Miller (Kris Young’s mother) has lost strength in her legs and is no longer mobile. She is in hospice care at home and using her wheelchair to get around. We are praying for her and the family as they continue to share life together. Bob and Kris are still her primary caregivers. Jennifer Lourens (daughter of Les and Ruth Lourens) has been prescribed a medication that can slow down the dementia process so she can still do the things she loves to do for a while longer. We are praying her system accepts the medication well and for her to be able to enjoy every day God gives. (1/29/25)

Cara Flavio (Lori Cox’s sister) is still not able to walk without assistance and has limited-to-no use of her left side after her stroke. She continues to need therapy which has to be insurance approved to cover the cost. We are praying for improved mobility and strength. Pray also for her husband Max, for his health and strength; he has ongoing back pain and has been looking for options to help alleviate the pain. Your prayers and cards are most appreciated (Box 61, Concord, IL 62631). Lori is hoping to make a quick visit to them soon, which helps both women with keeping up their positive outlook on life. Josiah Waddle (Gary and Lori’s grandson) is doing much better; he is going to a recovery program and to church regularly and seems to be trying to rebuild his relationship with God and keep a job. Mya McClaflin (Doug and Paula Kieler’s 11-year-old granddaughter) is doing well but goes to IA City every six months for checkups for her brain lesions. She is taking daily methotrexate pills, and weekly Humira shots. She needs to wear a boot on her fractured ankle and needs to finish her physical therapy. We are praying she will go into complete remission soon. She is pretty much back to normal daily activity in her life as she continues her treatments. We are praying for God to heal her physically long term. (1/29/25)
